 The horror genre continues to be the peoples favorite,  mainly because of its ability to captivate their interest in fear and the paranormal world. Directors such as Jordan Peele, Ari Aster and James Wan have played a big role in creating horror by experimenting with fresh approaches to produce terror.

The lasting popularity of horror comes from its ability to attract a large range of people. Particularly attracts the young adults who appreciate the excitement of being scared midlessly! Movies such, as It (2017) for instance, perfectly showcase the captivating mix of supernatural aspects that keep the viewers hooked and have earned $700 million at the box office. 

Horror movies usually involve a group of characters (  typically adults) dealing with creepy events, in most cases. The plots  in these movies often revolve around one or two characters confronting or discovering a presence, similar to how The Conjuring demonstrates paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren confronting a demon attached to a family and their house. In some movies, horror narratives might focus on a character facing fears that reflect the terror present in their surroundings, just like in the movie Hereditary. 

Horror stories cover a spectrum; from the supernatural, to aspects where genuine reactions can make the feeling of authenticity better in the film. Characters react with fear that gives credibility to the danger lurking within the story. When horror adds elements of fantasy such as a doll like Annabelle, characters reactions anchor the fear, in reality. 

Techniques used in horror movies focus on setting the mood with lighting and shadows while incorporating  sound effects to create suspense by usingng moments of silence and slow pacing for maximum impact. For instance the movie, A Quiet Place, effectively uses silence as a tool to heighten tension and increase the sense of fear.

Movies such as The Shining and Get Out highlight the aspects of horror films. In The Shining, a sense of fear is created through its setting and visuals that depict a dive into madness, while Get Out blends social themes, with psychological terror to make a deeply personal fear emphasized by the iconic close up image of the characters distressed expression.

 Avengers Infinity War

In the film "Avengers: Infinity War," representation plays a significant role in creating the narrative and the characters. Two major characters who stand out in this film are Black Panther and Doctor Strange. Both characters not only represent different cultures and backgrounds, but their interactions and actions also highlight important themes of leadership and sacrifice.

Black Panther brings a perspective, to the Avengers as portrayed by Chadwick Boseman in the movie series.In the film franchises storyline he reigns as the monarch of Wakanda – an nation renowned for its sophisticated technological advancements.This depiction carries weight as it introduces an superhero characterized by integrity and duty.T’Challas persona stands out amidst the ensemble of Avengers by highlighting the significance of ancestry and togetherness.He upholds principles such as solidarity and resilience that play a role in confronting adversaries, like Thanos. T’Challa’s depiction disrupts typical superhero movie stereotypes, by embodyng both strength as a warrior and wisdom as a leader. A departure from the portrayal of characters in Hollywood that adds significant depth, to his character. 

However; Benedict Cumberbatch portrays Doctor Strange in a light, as a character of bravery and transformation. Initially a neurosurgeon who later evolves into a sorcerer; he grapples with his ego. Strives to embrace humility. His narrative underscores the significance of selflessness; evident when he employs the Time Stone to safeguard the cosmos. Through Doctor Stranges expedition; it is evident that genuine strength emanates from acknowledging ones boundaries and being willing to navigate decisions, for the betterment of all. He shows in "Infinity War" that intelligence and sagacity hold significance, as physical prowess does in portraying the essence of a hero completely. 

Overall, the film has a diverse cast with characters like Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, and Gamora, each with their own backgrounds and strengths. This diversity makes the story richer and shows that anyone can help fight evil, no matter where they come from. Overall, "Avengers: Infinity War" does a great job of representing different cultures and types of heroes, making it more inclusive and relatable to a wider audience.

Project Details/Summary

 For this project we were insturcted to create minimun 1 minute audio that would basically tell a story. No pictures were allowed in the video and there was a max of 5 words that could be used in the video.

Description of my project

In my project, we made a story using different foley sounds to create a story of bigfoot attacking campers in the woods. 

Analysis

This was edited on Adobe and for the next time I do something related to this project, I wish to better at making the audios flow together smoother and there is no time in the video where it is completely silent.
